Project

South-Central Fresno Pepsi Delivery Truck Electrification Project

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) partnered with Bottling Group, LLC and New Bern Transport Corporation—subsidiaries of PepsiCo, Inc.—and CALSTART, Inc. to implement the South-Central Fresno Pepsi Delivery Truck Electrification Project. Pepsi owns and operates the bottling facility at 1150 E. North Ave, Fresno, CA, which serves as the project site. The project deployed 50 Tesla semi battery-electric Class 8 trucks and installed electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), including eight 700+ kilowatt DC fast chargers using the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) standard, along with a battery energy storage system (BESS). The project also includes workforce training programs focused on alternative fuel vehicle technologies in South-Central Fresno. Pepsi is the end-user and operator of both the zero-emission trucks and infrastructure.
