The Sustainable Heavy-Duty Initiatives for Future Technology (SHIFT) program advances the development and deployment of next-generation zero-emission transportation technologies.
Funded through the California Air Resources Board’s Clean Transportation Incentives Program and California Climate Investments, SHIFT supports real-world demonstrations of advanced vehicles, equipment, and emissions solutions across freight, ports, transit, agriculture, and industry.
These projects move promising technologies from early demonstration to scalable deployment—helping bring cleaner, more efficient transportation systems to communities across California. SHIFT investments are focused on delivering health and economic benefits to California’s Priority Populations.
